Behavior Issues Solved!
Dogs Being Dogs

Dogs are dogs and, just like any of us, they do what works for them. If barking at you gains your dog attentino, then he'll continue to bark at you when he wants attention. They just aren't born automatically knowing what they should be doing - so they do what comes naturally.

While dogs are happily doing what works to get them what they want, we, on the other hand, are frustrated and annoyed with their seeimingly "bad" behavior. What an impasse eh?

Not to worry! Behavior issues, large or small, can be solved by teaching your dog a desired behavior to use in rileyattentioneach setting where he's doing unwanted behaviors. The nice outcome to this is not only have you solved your problem, you have created a new way to communicate with your dog, one that will help you build the relationship you already have and maintain harmony in your household.

Your Dog's Personal Trainer will help you bring out the best possible manners from your dog. Does your dog’s unruly behavior seem impossible to change? Don’t be fooled. All dogs can learn nice manners, and yours is no exception. We use positive, science-based training to change behavior quickly.

While it takes patience and consistency to bring out the best in your dog, you'll be amazed at your progress!

Here are just some of the problems that dog owners routinely need help with:

Beyond Dogs Being Dogs
Dogs, like people, can be plagued by more serious problems - problems rooted in anxiety or fear, probems that impact a dog's quality of life, problems that disrupt the relationships between family members and other pets. Your Dog's Personal Trainer can structure a behavior modification program to help your dog learn to be calm, to keep a clear head, to make good choices in the face of frightening events.

Here are just some of the situations that call for a behavior modificiation approach:

  • Anxiety-related behavior
  • Aggression towards family or strangers
  • Reactive outbursts at perceived threats (such as other dogs people, bicyclists, skateboarders, children and so on)
  • Inappropriate behavior between dogs and children
  • Fearfulness or shynesssashavaccuum
  • Lack of play or communication skills with other dogs
  • Protectiveness over toys or food
  • Sound sensitivities such as thunder, fireworks, leaf blowers, skateboards and so on

A complete physical exam by a veterinarian who has been given a complete behavioral history will allow us to be sure that there is no underlying physical problem.
